Join composer, vocalist, and scholar Gelsey Bell for a guided listening experience of modern and contemporary music. Each of the four sessions highlights a particular section of MoMA's Fluxus audio archive and the Steven Lieber collection, and connects these rarely heard works to music currently being made in New York City. The final listening session will feature a short performance by Bell and saxophonist Erin Rogers.

Inspired by The People's Studio theme of Collective Imagination, each of the four sessions takes a different approach to participating together in the act of listening. Each session will focus on a different group-listening configuration: around the table, in the concert hall, lying down, and in a circle.

These workshops are free with Museum admission. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis for each session. Sign-up begins 30 minutes before each workshop. This workshop is designed for adult participants. Program length: 75 min.

Gelsey Bell is a composer, vocalist, and scholar. She has received a Foundation for Contemporary Arts Music/Sound award and is a current commissioned artist at the HERE Arts Center.
